## What does a charging station survey assess?

In an EV charging station survey we establish the structure and capacity of the electrical system, the sizing of the electricity connection, the current condition of cabling and connections, the main fuse size of the property's electricity connection, the type of riser cable and the number of parking spaces.

## Why have a survey before charging?

When you get an electric car, remember to have a survey done before charging from a socket, because not every socket is safe for charging a fully electric car or a plug-in hybrid. The socket may be worn or otherwise faulty, or simply unsuitable as a charging point. Without a survey there is also a risk that, in the event of damage, the insurance company will not directly compensate for damage caused by charging from a socket.
